Speed Racer (1967) was a Japanese cartoon that became hugely popular in the US and worldwide. Larry and Andy Wachowski (the guys behind The Matrix trilogy) are directing a remake that will be released this year, and that a lot of fans await. Considering what can be seen in the trailer, you can expect a movie more of the caliber of the third Matrix movie than of the first.
