James Bond crashes yet another Aston Martin

Once again, a DBS met its maker on a James Bond shooting. Following the several ones destroyed during the rollover scene in Casino Royale and the one which wasn’t supposed to take a fatal bath in the Lake Garda on the set of Quantum of Solace, the much desired vehicle hit a stone wall in a quarry for what will be the climax of the chase in the upcoming movie. For good measure, the bad guy’s vehicle is also destroyed in the scene, which MI6 describes as follow: Bond... Read More

James Bond stunt goes wrong: a DBS in lake Garda.

digg_url = 'http://carsplusmovies.com/2008/04/23/james-bond-stunt-goes-wrong-a-dbs-in-lake-garda/'; While shooting a stunt for Quantum of Solace, the next Bond, the stuntman lost control of the Aston Martin DBS and ended up in the lake beyond. Thanksfully, the driver suffers only minor injuries, which is crazy considering how badly damaged the car is. It’s painful to see such a beautiful car get smashed, but when you see what these guys do with them when filming, it’s... Read More

Aston Martin DBS in Quantum of Solace

digg_url = http://carsplusmovies.com/2008/04/16/aston-martin-dbs-in-quantum-of-solace/'; We’re not too keen on using Autoblog as a source so often, but they do have great articles, and we like to share some of them with you. Tuesday, they posted two “spy” videos from the set of Quantum of Solace, the next James Bond. They don’t show much, but it’s quite fascinating to see the apparatus the production has to install on the Aston Martin DBS to shoot... Read More

digg_url = 'http://carsplusmovies.com/2008/03/24/james-bond-to-drive-a-ford-ka-in-quantum-of-solace/'; Rest assured, we’re not talking about his real ride. As we stated before (read James Bond in the carpool lane), the Aston Martin DBS from Casino Royale will come back for the lead. But, just like in this previous movie with the Ford Mondeo, there’s a need for second roles. For Ford and the producers, it means there’s a need for product placement… The... Read More

This week in theatres: fight zombies in a Bentley with Doomsday (2008)

digg_url = 'http://carsplusmovies.com/2008/03/10/this-week-in-theatres-fight-zombies-in-a-bentley-with-doomsday-2008/'; This Friday (March 14th) will open Doomsday in the US. For a car enthusiast, the movie looks promising, taking clues from Mad Max III, Beyond Thunderdome, and featuring a nice assortment of army vehicles, motorcycles with skulls, death buggies, a post-apocalyptic london Cab and a Bentley Continental GT (you have ten seconds to find the item that doesn’t... Read More

Bond’s couch

The guys at Aston Martin Heritage Design, who typically create custom parts for the famous British cars, used their craftsmanship on something more unusual: a couch shaped as a DB6 rear end. It’s all handmade and would probably please hard-core Bond fans (we’ll pass, thank you). To be precise, even though the DB6 was visually similar to the DB5, only the latter was used in 007’s movies. The couch could be yours for $7,600, without the headrests or the ejection... Read More
