‘TRON : Legacy’ toys are sure to be a Christmas hit

TRON: Legacy won’t be out until December, but the toys and other licensed products are ready to hit the shelves.
Fast Company has published a good article that sums up the best new goodies, but their video gives an much better idea about the upcoming storm. Watch it after the jump!

Fully functional Lego Tumbler is much better than yours

The auction might be over on eBay but it still is fantastic to look at. The guy behind this Tumbler (and Batpod, and 80’s Batmobile etc) spent hours giving it as many details as possible and making it functional, but he also made comic strips and videos… insane!

eBay Find of the Day: Lightning McQueen as Ecto-1

I ain't 'fraid of no ghost!

While browsing on eBay we’ve found the work of user redcarpetcustoms and it really caught our eye. Specialized into customizing die-cast toys from the Disney-Pixar blockbuster Cars he (or she) has come up with some very cool variations, referencing some of our favorite screen cars.

Above you can see McQueen as Ecto-1, but go check out Snot Rod as General Lee and Lightning McQueen and Sally sporting the ‘Herbie’ livery. It’s worth your time… and maybe your pocket money.

So if you see something strange in the neighborhood… who you gonna call?

If you’ve wandered in the toy section of any store recently, you’ve probably noticed that it’s a big battle between Iron Man and Speed Racer. Which is a bit ironic, considering that the first one is PG-13 and the second one PG… but it doesn’t matter, the kids love them. And ourselves, we couldn’t resist the new Hotwheels collection and bought a couple of cars, including the Mach 5 and the Mach 6. So… which one is your favorite?

Speed Racer: the videogame

Coming up with a racing video game a couple weeks after Gran Turismo 5 hit the shelves can sounds like a risky idea, but when you’re wearing the Speed Racer name and have all the buzz generated by the movie with you, it might not be that dangerous.
The in-game video (that you can watch below) reminds us of games like F-Zero, Wipe-Out, TrackMania and Mario Kart (the Nintendo Wii version has been launched 3 days ago, and will compete with it too), as it’s arcade oriented, very colorful, futuristic and on crazy tracks with jumps and loops.
We believe the game will do well, especially among the younger crowd, and as a specific enough setting, story and unique look to get a lot of racers behind the wheel.

Speed Racer: new Italian TV spot

This new trailer brings us more images, including the Mach 6 transformation AND it’s very cool to see it in Italian. It really feels like the movie will be a music-video paced visual overdose. Weirdly enough for a flick that seems targeted to a younger audience (try the toy section of your local Target store to see what I mean), it’s rated PG.

Oh well, as they say: dal 9 Maggio Al Cinema!

KITT is Back: the newest NBC commercial.

Only a week away from the 2 hours pilot of the new Knight Rider, the marketing is getting more and more aggressive and NBC airing new commercials.
Here, Justin Bruening (as Mike Tracer) is being explained that the Foundation is back and that they want him to drive the car. He’s then seen driving it and gettting a first hand experience of KITT’s abilities (including not getting a single scratch from a crash with a full-size SUV).
It’s easy to tell we’re getting closer to the premiere since official website has gotten much better since we first told you about it (read “ The Knight Rider, 2008 edition“) and Ford product placement is way more visible.

Bond’s couch

The guys at Aston Martin Heritage Design, who typically create custom parts for the famous British cars, used their craftsmanship on something more unusual: a couch shaped as a DB6 rear end. It’s all handmade and would probably please hard-core Bond fans (we’ll pass, thank you). To be precise, even though the DB6 was visually similar to the DB5, only the latter was used in 007’s movies.
The couch could be yours for $7,600, without the headrests or the ejection seat.

They also propose a V12 and a V8 Engine lounge table.
