iCollector is hosting a big movie prop auction, the Hollywood Auction Extravaganza. It’s a “2-day event featuring over 1000 iconic movie props and costumes from the Golden Era of Hollywood to new film releases. From signature Michael Jackson stageworn costumes, a collection from Star Wars to iconic props and costumes from Apocalypse Now, Batman, Titanic, Close Encounters, Indiana Jones and so much more”. One of the highlights is a character from Michael Bay’s Transformers 2, the bike Chromia. It’s a modified Suzuki with a gigantic tailpipe and all kinds of customs elements. Here’s the description:

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) – This is the original “Chromia” Arcee Motorcycle from Michael Bay’s film. This motorcycle, named “Chromia”, is based on the toy and comic book character. Created by Retro Superbike from a 2008 Suzuki B-King, it was used on set in the opening sequence of the movie and in the introduction of the new Autobot. It was called “F@cking Awesome” by Michael Bay when he first saw it. The paint scheme, as dictated by Bay and crew, depicts the Glyphs seen throughout the movie. Also includes a damaged fairing piece and the original studio rendering used for design approval. This item is oversized and will require additional shipping charges. This car was used during filming of scenes of Tony arriving or leaving signature Sopranos locations like The Bada Bing Strip Club, Satriale’s Pork Store, Sopranos crew members’ houses, meetings with members of the New York families, and the Sopranos home driveway. This car was also utilized during the filming of action sequences such as the infamous car chase in which Tony drives Phil Leotardo off the road and into the back of a parked car.

Remember the gorgeous Ferrari 250GT Spyder California that Bueller and his buddies crashed in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off?
Well now you can buy that garage (which turns out to be a house)… for $1.65 million, and No the car isn’t included. It’s actually a pretty swell building hidden in the woods of Highland Park, Illinois. Architects A. James Speyer and David Haid built the Ben Rose House in 1953.

Now go get it and let us know if rolling the car backwards will turn back the odometer…

Autographed by Carroll Shelby, this Eleanor replica is true to the movie ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’, down to the nuts and bolts. It was built by the much troubled Unique Performance which packed 585hp in the 427 Ford V8 engine. The rest of the car follows up with a lot of performance parts and a beautiful finish. It took $110,000 for a lucky bidder to get his hands on it a few days ago at the Barrett-Jackson auctions in Scottsdale, AZ.

Gone in 60 Seconds (2000), with Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie and
Robert Duvall, was a remake from the 1974 eponymous movie.

January 18-24 the 39th Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction took place in Scottsdale, AZ, and a few well-known movie vehicles crossed the stage and found new owners. One of them was the Ford A that was used my the infamous John Dillinger to escape the FBI in of the darkest moments of its history. On top of that, the car starred in the movie about John Dillinger, played by Johnny Depp, Public Enemies. The all-star cast also included Marion Cotillard, James Russo, Channing Tatum, and Christian Bale.

In a statement, Barret-Jackson president Steve Davis declared: “Dillinger, it is said, smashed the Ford’s rear window with his Thompson [submachine gun] and sprayed his pursuers with bullets,” In 2007 it was restored for Public Enemies, while keeping the original bullet holes. The car comes with meticulous documentation, including “transfer paperwork, articles, books, before-restoration photographs and a selection of documents copied from the federal files.”
It could have fetched a bit more money a few years ago but it still reached the nice sum of $165,000. Not bad.

Summary: Original car used by John Dillinger, Hommer Van Meter and John Hamilton to escape from Little Bohemia, Wisconsin and the largest FBI crack down in history.

Details: This car was used by John Dillinger, Hommer Van Meter and John Hamilton to get away from Melvin Purvis and 17 other FBI agents that were sent to Little Bohemia, WI on April 22, 1934 to take John Dillinger, dead or alive, by President Roosevelt and J. Edgar Hoover. This was the largest crack down in all of FBI history and most famous incident, it was reported in newspapers all over the U.S. and in other countries. When the gang had escaped, they had driven the car to St. Paul, Minnesota and had gotten into a running gun battle with police, exchanging gun fire for over 45 minutes. They finally got away, but this paid a toll on John Hamilton because he was shot during the gun battle and died in Chicago three days later from his wounds. During this incident, two FBI agents and one CCC worker were killed and eight more people were wounded. After this incident, President Roosevelt was so upset that had Melvin Purvis and J. Edgar Hoover failed to capture Dillinger one more time, it would have been the end of the FBI as we know it today. This car is considered the rarest Dillinger car, there is no other like it.

This wonderful BTTF replica was built for for someone with a very large wallet by Gary Weaver, an expert on everything DeLorean-from-Back-To-The-Future related. It’s extremely accurate and well built, and to top that of, was shot in front of the Gamble house in Pasadena, California (hey, that’s right next to Cars + Movies HQ… ), the house inhabited by Doc Brown in the movies. It’s for sale on eBay right now and has no bids yet for the third time around. You should pay the auction a visit even if just to see the wonderful pictures and the specs of what could be your next ride.

The starting bid is $59,000 and the Buy it Now price $89,000 so that could explain the lack of bids, but we’re pretty sure some true fan will show up. If you buy it, shoot us an email, we’d love to take a ride in it (we thought about it but avoided adding “at 88mph” by that much).

A Mad Max fan has built an Interceptor replica on a Ford Mustang Mach 1 base and is now trying to sell it on eBay for the small Buy it now price of $18k… It’s not base on a Falcon like it should and the supercharger, air scoops and side exhausts are fake, but it still looks cool and would have everyone in your neighborhood talking. Instant fame, just like that.

A fantastic Batmobile replica didn’t meet the reserve price on eBay and ended yesterday at $33,350. Based on a Lincoln Continental, it’s a very detailed replica including flame thrower and parachute! If you want it (and you have a big wallet)=…) keep your eyes peeled, it should be back for sale soon.

“I love it when a plan comes together.” Hannibal

A replica of the A-Team’s iconic mean of transportation needed to be built for a pilot (yep, a pilot, as in “the show could come back on TV” !!), so Ted Moser and his team got to work and assembled a correct replica of the van. Beside a few modern components such as an iPod dock and an on-screen navigation system, everything is period correct, from the hand-painted turbine wheels to the awesome reel-to-reel in the back. It was nice to see it in it’s real three-tone combo too, unlike some toys on the market where the van is all black with the red stripe. Talking about the paint, one of our fellow Cars+Movies gearhead noted how good the paint job was for such a big surface. The finish was mirror-like and it really popped out. This Chevrolet Cargo Van (the original was a GMC Vandura, but they’re similar in shape) is powered by a 350 V8.

Recently a similar replica got sold on eBay for more than $25,000. Last Saturday this one (which is in no doubt closer to the original, since it was spec’ed out by Universal Studios) found a new lucky owner for only $15,000. That could have made a nice daily driver!
The auctionneer also added that Universal could need the van for the upcoming A-Team movie. It’s supposed to come out on June 10th, 2010 but, so far, it seems to be a lot of rumors an very little facts. Liam Neeson is said to be negotiating to play Col. John “Hannibal” Smith, and Bradley Cooper (from the Hangover and Wedding Crashers) is rumored for the role of Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck.

We shot the low-res video above when the van arrived for its auction, with screeching tires, theme song and PCW crew members jumping out from the sliding door like Murdock, B. A. Baracus, Hannibal and Faceman would have done. Classic!
