Sunday Ads special: SuperBowl XLIII
Jason prefers Audis anyway...
First of all congrats to the Steelers for their victory, and to the Cardinals for a fantastic game.
Then, the important stuff: the ads.
In today’s economy, a lot of the big car manufacturers pulled out or didn’t go all the way to make a real “SuperBowl Ad”. Thankfully, Hyundai, Audi and Bridgestone gave us some good commercial to talk about and share with friends.
The Chase
Let start with Audi, who used their longtime association with
Jason Statham (a.k.a The Transporter), to poke fun at the History of car chases in the movies, and mainly at their three main competitors, to show the superiority of the Supercharged A6: the first car to not perform as an escape ride is a Mercedes, then comes a BMW and, finally, a Lexus. Notice how the BMW’s owner is a typical “player” from the 80′s and the Lexus was driven by an old man… Audi continues to play on the cliches!
