eBay Madness: Airwolf replica

Get your Airwolf replica on eBay

OK, we hear you, it’s not a car, but as we stated before, we’re pretty open to any kind of cool movie vehicle and, secondly, Airwolf was probably pitched to the networks as “Think Knight Rider, but in an helicopter” (completely different from Street Hawk, which was pitched as “Knight Rider, but on a bike”). That said, the futuristic chopper and its awesome theme music was great to watch as a kid, and many of us began to dream of getting our pilot license because of it. Dark (like… KITT) and full of high-tech gadgets (like…KITT) and super fast (ok, you got the point), the Lady , as it was called, and its crew, fought the bad guys without asking for much in exchange.

As you guessed, we were happily surprised when we spotted this Airwolf replica on the auction website. Based, like the original, on a Bell 222, it’s not completely finished, but looks great (some of the props have to be acquired separetly). It was owned by the Helicopter Headquarters museum in Pigeon Hole, TN, but unfortunetly the museum “didn’t make it” and has to sell it. There’s even a website about the mock-up.
Right now it’s at $ 38,900 and the reserve hasn’t been made. So go ahead and bid. You know it would make your neighbors jealous when you install it in your backyard.

That’s an awesome auction and an awesome website! Wish I had room in the backyard - someone obviously does, though. It got me all nostalgic and I began following links.

You know, there’s a whole fan base out there. With all the people talking up the show outside of this auction I’m surprised there aren’t more bids.

Here are the best of the best:

I’m going to sign on to the forum and chat with these blokes. Looks like they really love their Lady!

Fantastic time for Airwolf fans with lots happening on the scene!

Not only has the digitally re-mastered, official AIRWOLF THEMES soundtrack been recently released for Digital downloads onto Apple iTunes Store and Amazon.com (see the official website at http://www.airwolfthemes.com), Airwolf being one of the top shows streaming on-line at Hulu.com, and a new Airwolf Magazine (‘The Wolf’s Lair’) coming out, but now most importantly we all have a chance to buy our very own “Lady” to play that wonderfully iconic music in!

The full-size Replica Airwolf was developed and built by master prop builder (and genius who did the Airwolf Replica Helmets), Steven W. Stull.

The Wolf Has Come Back From The Womb With A Boom. Happy days.

Thanks guys. We hope for the return off Airwolf ourselves, but on one condition: make it better than the new Knight Rider. Can’t mess up with our childhood like that…
