Watch KITT every Wednesday in the fall

April 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

KITT, now every Wednesday!

After getting the news that the new Knight Rider was getting its own weekly show yesterday, we were keeping an eye on Variety, NBC and others to to see if the show would get a good slot in the Peacock’s schedule. Well, it didn’t get the best one, but Wednesdays at 8/7c is not too shabby either.

Improvement in sight

NBC has hired an experienced showrunner for the series, Gary Scott Thompson, who was previously filling that role for the Las Vegas series. Most importantly, he is the guy who wrote the first Fast and Furious.

“Action and effects are going to be a real priority for us on this show.”

So when Katherine Pope, from NBC/Universal, told Variety that “If you think what Knight Rider would be, it’s The Fast and the Furious meets Las Vegas.” it wasn’t a big surprise, even if we don’t quite get what the result would be. It’s crystal clear when she speaks about the two-hour pilot though: “We didn’t have a lot of time on the movie, which was done on a very tight schedule, so the biggest thing we want to do with the series is have more action and special effects, which requires time.” That’s a relief! If they keep on improving it, we might even consider watching it every week…

Don’t miss our interview with KITT’s designer Harald Belker next week!
