Sunday Ads: 2008 Challenger in Vanishing Point

When the new Challenger came out, an idea immediatly sprung in the gasoline-filled brain of many car guys: what about a new Vanishing Point remake? Something to fear, or something to look forward to?
There was the very forgetable TV remake of 1997, with… Viggo Mortensen as Kowalski, and an original white Challenger, but a real attempt hasn’t been done yet. With the new Dodge it could be awesome, as long as it’s done by the right people. The boost to Dodge’s poor sales performance would be huge, and not only for the Challenger.

Well, one of these guys worked on the idea and took the time to make a commercial for the new muscle car, mixing footage from the 1971 Vanishing Point and from the 2008 SRT Challenger official videos. The result is pretty amazing and makes us want to see more!

Who’s going to step up to the plate and make it happen? We know that Quentin is a big fan of the cult flick (if you’ve seen Grindhouse/Death Proof, you know what we mean, if not, watch the video below), but we might end up with too much dialogues. Michael Bay is great for car chases, but we’re afraid he would try to blow up every prop. If you have any ideas, let us know in your comments!
