If you follow the news regarding the new Knight Rider, you already know that Will Arnett has been replaced by Val Kilmer as KITT’s voice. This happened just a few weeks before the premiere, when either GM or Ford realised it wasn’t a good idea to have the voice of the GMC commercial (Arnett), voice a show massively sponsored by Ford. From the different articles we’ve read it’s difficult to say which one of the car manufacturers threw a hissy fit. It might actually be both.
So instead of the guy from Blades of Glory and Arrested Development, it will be the one from Top Gun and Batman Forever. Will it make the show better or worse? Probably not. NBC may just end up using Kilmer’s big name to promote the show.
