When a commercial is based on a good idea, well directed, well shot and has good photography, it can reach the quality of a movie. For a lot of directors, shooting a sucessful commercial is a step towards shooting movies. The new Audi commercial for the R8 is based on a great idea and beautifully shot. Equipped with a Lamborghini engine but handmade, the commercial claims it’s “The slowest car we’ve ever built”.

For Audi, it’s not so much about promoting their new car, but about projecting its image onto the other cars in the range.
